The Allegheny Mountain Dulcimer Players

"About Us"
|
We are Clark Parry and Lucinda Durkee, and as the Allegheny Mountain Dulcimer Players we are dedicated to the preservation, presentation, participation, and performance of music from the past. We play traditional "old timey" tunes, folk music, and gospel songs on the mountain dulcimer, guitar, strum stick, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, and of course "Bob", our 3/4 bass.
We have taught hundreds of people to play the mountain dulcimer and other traditional instruments. Our worksops and other special programs and services are available for festivals, schools, churches, weddings, funerals, special events, dances, and much more.
We founded and organized the Heart Of The Alleghenies Folk Music Festival, where you can spend a weekend jamming, learning, listening, and dancing in a college setting at the beautiful campus the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Our first festival was a great success in 2004, and this August 2008, will be our fifth fabulous festival.
As ordained ministers we have officiated at many weddings, baptisms, funerals, and other rites of passage. We provide music for weddings, family reunions, church services (as well as doing pulpit supply), graduation parties, art shows, retirement parties, and any event where gentle background music is desired.
