FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR with The Allegheny Mountain Ministries, we are ordained ministers and have officiated at countless weddings, renewing of vows, baptisms, funerals, and other rites of passage. WE ARE AT YOUR SERVICE.
The Allegheny Mountain Ministries purpose is to "quietly and humbly preserve, perform, worship with, and teach old time Gospel Music".
The Allegheny Mountain Ministries (TAMM) is a church organization, worshiping with local congregations, bringing traditional old time music to their services. TAMM occasionally stands alone as a church entity, conducting its annual and regular meetings in the context of a worship service.
Our ministry provides praise and worship music from antiquity, on traditional stringed instruments, blending with or standing alone in local worship settings, and instruction in old time gospel music, vocal and instrumental.
We also provide pulpit supply, pastoral care, programming, special services, and sacramental and liturgical church music leadership.
TAMM presents and participates in festivals of music. The centerpiece of these festivals is Old Time Gospel Music. TAMM continually records live Gospel music for release in public and church markets. Regular communications with members and others by newsletter, internet, and media releases is part of TAMM’s mission and purpose.
The Allegheny Mountain Ministries are Missionaries of Music. The Gospel is proclaimed in music and verse. (TAMM) offers stand alone worship service to other groups. i.e. Campsite Evangelism Inc. Christian gatherings, conventions, fairs, festivals, and markets.
Music instrumentation includes but is not necessarily limited to: Mountain Dulcimer, Hammered Dulcimer, Guitar, Piano, Fiddle, Mandolin, Upright Bass, Harp, Banjo, Autoharp, percussion instruments, hand clapping, and other folk instruments.
Attendance at festivals, church and secular, to teach, perform, demonstrate, worship, and otherwise celebrate the rich tradition of folk gospel music in the sacred realm.
The Allegheny Mountain Ministries is an Evangelical entity. TAMM is founded on the truth of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (NIV)
Further, TAMM believes in The Great Commission, Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (NIV)
Therefore, TAMM also celebrates Communion and Baptism as ordained ministers of World Christian Ministries. Preaching, Bible Study, Prayer, Christian Meditation, Pastoral Care, Sunday School, and all traditionally accepted Church activities are practiced by TAMM.
TO OUR DEAR FRIENDS, thank you for supporting The Allegheny Mountain Ministries. We appreciate, first and foremost, you prayerful support. Knowing that you are thinking of us is something that we treasure in our hearts. You are in our prayers too! You have also been of great support financially. Whether by inviting us in to help with pulpit supply, special music, fellowship events, pastoral care needs and Christian Education events; these have all helped us to be able to continue our full time Ministry of the Gospel.
We have been able to bring the Good News to some very out of the way places. Our work with Campsite Evangelism, festivals, markets, family reunions, and various teaching and performing venues allows us to share Jesus through our music.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. As you plan in 2008, be sure to keep us in mind in your programming. We would love to come and share our story to which we are constantly adding new and wonderful chapters.
