Welcome to our humble homesite. We are Clark Parry and Lucinda Durkee, and as the Allegheny Mountain Dulcimer Players we are graciously at your service in the preservation, presentation, participation, and performance of music from the past. We play traditional "old timey" tunes, folk music, and gospel songs on the mountain dulcimer, guitar, strum stick, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, and of course "Bob", our 3/4 bass. Bob has a little brother now, Gerald. He is a Kay Bass purchased in Brooksville, Florida. We will never part with Bob. But Gerald is a nice addition to our family.
If you enjoy this traditional music we cordially invite you attend one of our regularly scheduled "easy jam" sessions and/or instructional classes. We hold them in West Pasco County, Florida. Scheduled times and locations change periodically, so it is always best to call for times and locations. Whether you're a beginning musician or experienced, we welcome everyone. Part of the fun is, we all learn from each other.
So, if you've ever wanted to play a musical instrument, but just never had the opportunity, NOW is your chance. Our unique "instant musician" program will actually have you playing real music the same day.
As unbelievable as this may sound, we have introduced hundreds of people to playing instruments with our unique method of music. Don't put it off any longer! YOU can enjoy playing a musical instrument NOW and FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
